Kedarnath is a holy Hindu town located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand in India. It is one of the Char Dhams located in the Himalayas. Kedarnath is situated at an astonishing height of 3584 meters above sea level near the head of Mandakini River. The Kedarnath temple lies amidst the majestic snow-capped Garhwal Himalayan ranges and is thronged by thousands of tourists each year. The magnificent Kedarnath Temple can be reached by hiking 16Km through the Kedarnath trek from Gaurikund. Dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva, the world-famous Kedarnath Temple counts among the country’s 12 Jyotirlingas.
Believed to have been originally constructed thousands of years ago by the Pandavas, this age- old shrine was refurbished by Adi Shankaracharya. Surrounded by lofty snow-covered mountains and adorned by the picturesque Mandakini river snaking before it, this temple receives lakhs of pilgrims from all over the world every year.
Kedarnath is a town and Nagar Panchayat in Rudraprayag district of
Uttarakhand, India, known primarily for the Kedarnath Temple. It is
approximately 86 kilometres from Rudraprayag, the district
headquarter. Kedarnath is the most remote of the four Chota Char
Dham pilgrimage sites. It is located in the Himalayas, about 3,583 m
(11,755 ft) above sea level near the Chorabari Glacier, which is the
source of the Mandakini river. The town is flanked by snow-capped
peaks, most prominently the Kedarnath Mountain. The nearest road
head is at Gaurikund about 16 km away.
Assemble at boarding point in Delhi at 9 pm Boatnical Garden metro station/Mayur Vihar Extension Metro Station, Gate number 2, Start an overnight journey to Sonprayag and socialize with your co- travellers.

Take a break in Rishikesh early in the morning. have breakfast on the way. Take a pit stop at Devprayag (to witness the confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi), Rudraprayag (to witness the confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini). Check into the hotel Upon arrival in Sonprayag, freshen up and have some leisure. Overnight stay at sonprayag. (Meals: Dinner).
Good Morning with breakfast, Drive from Sitapur to Sonprayag and take govt. taxi From Sonprayag and drive 5km to Gaurikund by own. later start your trek to Kedarnath. you will have Many options. One by trekking and other is by Air via Helicopter (at your own cost) or By Palki Etc. Overnight stay at Kedarnath. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner ]
NOTE : members should carry personal medicines, heavy woolen, toiletries and clothes for an overnight halt at Kedarnath .
Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption . He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground Leaving his hump to the surface. the remaining portion of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations.
In the morning the temple doors are open at 4am, you can see the golden rays of the rising sun falling on the temple, we must stand in the queue for our turn to worship ( for darshan ) to go inside the temple, many times due to heavy crowed the queue got longer, from this longer queue our everyone’s next schedules get late. so all we have to try to finish our worship before 7am, our breakfast will be ready at 7am, we have to check out our hotel at 8am and after we will start our trek towards gaurikund, we shall reach gaurikund before 5pm, after reaching Gaurikund we have to drive for 5km to sonprayag, Overnight stay at sonprayag. (Meals: Dinner and Breakfast).
Early morning breakfast. after breakast Drive 220km Sonprayag to Rishikesh and spend some couple of time in Rishikesh. then drive 260km to delhi. you will reach delhi at late night, Drop point will be same. And the tour ends with a lot of memories. (Meals : Breakfast).
